LODGE RULES AS ADOPTED AND AFFIRMED BY THE LODGE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Amended April 15, 2010

Article I. Name and Affiliation of Lodge

1. * The Lodge shall be affiliated with the Las Vegas Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, and shall be under the supervision of the Camping Committee and the administrative authority of the Scout Executive.
2. The name of the Lodge of the Order of the Arrow shall be the Nebagamon Lodge WWW 312.
3. The totem to this Lodge shall be that of Fire on the Water.

Article II. Elections to Membership

1. * The requirements for membership in the Lodge are as required in the current printing of the Order of the Arrow handbook, including all National changes and procedures.
2. Procedures for the Ordeal shall be a stated in the administrative guide for the Ordeal.

Article III. Officers

1. * The officers of this Lodge shall be: Lodge Chief, Lodge Vice Chief(s), Lodge Secretary, and Lodge Treasurer. These elected officers must be under twenty-one (21) years of age during their entire term of office.
2. * The Executive Committee shall be composed of elected Lodge officers, Immediate Past Lodge Chief, Lodge operating committee Chairmen, Lodge Adviser, Council Camping Committee Chairman, Chapter Chief and Adviser to each Chapter (if any exists), Scout Executive, and Lodge Staff Adviser.
3. An Adviser may be appointed by the Lodge Adviser to work with each committee.
4. The Lodge Secretary is the Chairman of the Membership Committee.
5. The Lodge Treasurer is the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
6. Lodge Officers should be elected in the Fall. The term of all officers should be approximately one year, and may be installed at any scouting function.
7. An officer may be removed from office by a vote of 2/3 of the entire Executive Committee.
8. An office may be declared vacant by the executive committee if an officer fails to make two consecutive scheduled meetings.
9. Vacant offices will be filled by appointment by the Key 3.
10. An officer or Adviser may not hold more than one office in the Order of the Arrow at any one time. If an officer or adviser is inaugurated into a new position, the officer or adviser must resign from any current ones.
11. The job of Chapter Officers should be similar to the job of the corresponding Lodge Officers.

Article IV. Brotherhood Membership

1. * Completion of Brotherhood membership shall be in accordance with the current printing of the Order of the Arrow Handbook.
2. All candidates will pay for their Brotherhood supplies.

Article V. Vigil

1. * Attainment of the Vigil Honor shall be in accordance with the current printing of the Order of the Arrow Handbook.
2. The first Vigil sash and pin will be given by the Lodge to each new Member.

Article VI. Dues

1. * All Order of the Arrow funds will be handled through the Las Vegas Area Council office and will go through all normal accounting procedures used by the council.
2. Distribution of money: All purchases by the Lodge should be in the form of a purchase order (PO). If a check is desired, a check request must be submitted through the Staff Adviser. A budget is to be submitted or an explanation for the use of money is to be approved by the Executive Committee of the Lodge or an approved Committee.The Treasurer will confirm the withdrawal from the Lodge account.
3. There will be an induction fee payable at the time of induction.
4. Dues of the Lodge shall be collected annually by the registrar and shall be deposited with the Council Office. Dues must be paid by December 31 of each year. After January 1 all members who have not paid their dues will be placed in the inactive files.
5. An inactive member may be restored to active status by paying the current year’s dues.

Article VII. Voting

1. * Arrowmen under the age of 21 may vote in matters of Lodge business.
2. * Adult Scouters, age 21 or over, do not have a vote in matters of Lodge business.

Article VIII. Lodge Meetings

1. An Executive Committee meeting of this Lodge shall be held monthly except for the month of July.
2. A special meeting of the Executive Committee may be called by the Lodge Chief or the Lodge Adviser with approval of the Staff Adviser.
3. At each meeting the Obligation of the Order of the Arrow shall be used.
4. The Lodge Secretary shall notify all Executive Committee members five days in advance of any meetings.

Article IX. Amendments to the Rules

1. These rules shall be subject to amendment at any regular or special meeting of the Lodge, provided such amendment has been submitted in writing to the Executive Committee at least ten days prior to such a meeting. A 2/3 vote of the members of the Executive Committee present shall be required to pass an amendment.
